1995 Lotus Elan S2 (M100) – Medina Green with Raven Grey Leather Interior

Introduced in 1989, the Lotus Elan M100 was the company’s bold reimagining of its iconic 1960s namesake. Engineered with cutting-edge front-wheel-drive dynamics and powered by an Isuzu 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, it was praised for its agility, grip and usability. The later S2 model, launched in 1994, marked the final production run with just 800 examples built, offering refinements in detail and a limited-edition status that has since made them highly sought-after among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This particular example, finished in Medina Green with Raven Grey leather interior, presents beautifully and benefits from a history of thoughtful care and select upgrades. Notable enhancements include a PNM Engineering four-pot brake caliper upgrade with vented discs, offering significantly improved stopping performance, alongside a Piper sports exhaust and a new pre-catalytic converter (2022).

Maintenance has been consistent and well-documented, with a timing belt replacement in March 2023, a fresh service in February 2025, and new handbrake cables fitted recently. The comprehensive history folder contains over 50 invoices spanning its life, evidencing the regularity of upkeep and the attention it has received. MOT certificates and supporting paperwork extend back to 2002.

The sale also includes a number of desirable extras:

  • Original Owners Handbook and Lotus Service Notes booklet

  • Spare key

  • Private number plate retained with the car

  • Kenwood CD player with handbook

  • A file including period magazine articles about the Lotus Elan

A well-maintained and increasingly rare British sports car, this Lotus Elan S2 (M100) offers both collectability and usability. With its distinctive colour scheme, careful ownership, and documented history, it represents an excellent opportunity to acquire one of Hethel’s last great 20th-century designs.
