Triumph GT6
The Triumph GT6 is a fastback coupé produced by the Triumph Motor Company between 1966 and 1973, developed from the Michelotti-styled Spitfire. Powered by Triumph’s robust inline six-cylinder engine, the GT6 combined sporting performance with grand touring comfort, earning a reputation as a refined yet engaging driver’s car. Today, surviving examples in authentic condition are highly sought after for their distinctive design, mechanical character, and rarity. Provenance This particular GT6 was supplied new by Central Garage, Brixham to Mrs. Goodsell of Brixham.
From day one, it was diligently maintained, with invoices, service stamps, and completed maintenance records from new until around 1983. After a ten-year gap, documentation resumes in approximately 1993, when the car passed into the ownership of Mr. Connell, who appears to have kept and enjoyed it until 2002. The car then spent several years off the road before its most recent keeper embarked upon an exacting body-off restoration, carried out with an eye for absolute detail. Every single component was either carefully restored or replaced, including a full engine rebuild, renewed interior, and flawless bodywork finished to ‘as new’ standards. Among its charming period details, the original Central Garage dealer sticker still adorns the rear window — a subtle but evocative link to its first days in Brixham. The result is a GT6 that is both visually and mechanically outstanding, with a smooth, sonorous straight-six soundtrack.
This is a car capable of winning concours awards or delivering pure driving enjoyment on twisty back roads. A rare opportunity to acquire a Triumph GT6 with outstanding provenance, documented history, and a restoration executed to the very highest standards. Equally suited to the show field or the open road, this is a GT6 that offers both beauty and authenticity in abundance.
