Rover P6B 3500 (Auto): Restored/Webesto Sun Roof
The 3500 was introduced in April 1968 and continued to be offered until 1977. The V8 engine weighed the same as the four-cylinder unit of the Rover 2000 giving the more powerful cars a maximum speed of 114 mph with a 0-60 time of 10.5-seconds and the model is easily able to cope with modern road conditions.
Milestones have marketed this impressive P6 before and are delighted to have taken her back in part-exchange from a regular customer who appreciates the quality of our cars and the level of service & support we provide. The Rover starts on the button settling into a smooth V8 idle with excellent oil pressure. The auto box selects/kicks down smoothly and the power steering makes this a superb cruiser – I drove the car back from Norwich and she is an absolute pleasure to drive. The P6 received paint during 2009 (retaining the brown huntsman vinyl roof) and this has stood the test of time very well with outstanding panel fit. The underside is excellent with no corrosion - the rear seats/inner rear door shuts are a notorious weak spots on this model. The original chrome is all good and the sills are finished in the correct satin black. The interior of the car is to the same standard as the exterior. The box-pleat seats & door cards are very good (the very rare rear headrests are still with the car) while the carpets and door rubbers were replaced during the restoration. The P6 comes with a comprehensive history folder with lots of invoices, old MOT’s, pictures of the restoration in 2009 and a very complimentary Classic Car Weekly review of the car from 2021.
This is a stunning car that drives as good as it looks. Undervalued for many years these V8s are now recognised as an outstanding classic car providing performance and comfort in a stylish package. We urge early viewing in order to avoid disappointment.
